Recently, I shared how Jesus is our “morning light from heaven” (Luke 1:78, NLT). Zacharias prophesied that Jesus is our “Dayspring” who brings light to the darkness in people’s lives, just like a sunrise.
But not only does a sunrise bring light, it also represents a new beginning. I love to see the first glimmer of light in the morning, because to me, it depicts the hope and opportunity found in each new day. Regardless of the experiences of yesterday – good or bad – today is a new day. In the same way, Jesus always brings freshness of life.
Part of the miraculous power of God is that He can make anything or anyone NEW. The apostle Paul proclaimed, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV).
Think of circumstances in your life or your loved ones’ that need to be made new. Know that Jesus can completely transform those situations! He is the Dayspring from on high, and He makes all things new!
Let’s pray: “God, we thank you that you are the one who makes all things new. Help us to see and appreciate the new opportunities you give us every day, and help us to make the most of them. We know some situations that need to be transformed, and only you can do it. We give you these needs and ask you to turn them around for good. Fill us with the freshness of your Spirit every day – even today. And help us to live for your glory.”
