As I shared last week, one of the most important activities we should give our attention to is Christian fellowship. We definitely need each other! Paul explained, “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, so also is Christ” (1 Cor. 12:12). Just as different physical body parts combine to form a complete human body, individuals of different personalities and abilities combine to form the complete body of Christ. However, just as a physical body is not complete without an arm or a leg, the church is not complete when some of its members are not fulfilling their roles. We all need to accept our positions in the body of Christ by using the gifts God has given us.
Perhaps you feel like you don’t have anything to offer, but that is simply not true. Romans 12:6 explains, “God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well” (NLT). Your gift could be the special ability to encourage others, or perhaps God has blessed you with the financial means to help those in need. Maybe you have a gift of creativity, or you may have a knack for working with children. Whatever your talent is, God wants you to use it for His glory. You may feel like your gift is nothing spectacular, but in reality it is crucial to the fulfillment of God’s plan.
